The Fall 2011 RTW collection of Dolce&Gabbana was inspired by androgynous David Bowie back in the day, the rockabilly of the 50s, all dipped in glitter and powerful combinations of textures and styles. The star print was... the star of the night, you could find it on any fabric and color, looking just as good. Musical notes were wrapped around the wrists as bracelets, hung by the ears as earrings, and the piano clutch is something to remember. The occasional neon highlights are reminiscent of the spring-summer season.
Although the details in the collection seem a bit gloomy, we promise they're just taken out of context. The collection is quite cheerful. Some of the sunglasses look like they're designed for the circus (see the diamond-shaped ones, middle picture above), while others are perfectly wearable. The colors for shades are dark, and they're worn with fur collars, masculine fedora hats and neutral make up.
At times, you can't even tell if the models are male of female - and I guess that's what androgyny is all about!

Of course you've heard of the famous Italian fashion brand, but what do you know about its history?
The company was founded in 1985 by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana in Milan, two designers and life partners with a new vision. They become truly world famous in1993, when they dressed Madonna in her Girlie Show. They worked with celebrities throughout the 90s (Whitney Houston, Nicole Kidman, Demi Moore) and are still doing it now.
